Hacer Duzman, a PhD student, was selected to attend the International HPC Summer School (IHPCSS) held in Kobe, Japan, from July 7–12, 2024. Organized collaboratively by leading HPC institutions from Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, and Japan, and hosted locally by RIKEN, this program brings together early-career researchers from around the world to engage in training on high-performance computing (HPC). The program included a rich schedule of expert-led lectures, interactive hands-on sessions, mentorship opportunities, and cross-cultural networking aimed at advancing scientific computing capabilities globally.

Reflecting on the experience, Hacer shared that the summer school was an incredibly valuable opportunity to connect with researchers and professionals from diverse academic and industrial backgrounds. She expressed her sincere appreciation to the organizers of the school—especially the local host RIKEN—for their outstanding hospitality and program design. Hacer also extended her gratitude to the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) for sponsoring her participation.
